Nintendo 3DS

Absolutely the hot news coming out from E3 2010 was that the Nintendo 3DS is not only true but also manages to provide a full 3D gaming experience with no need of any glasses.

Most game publishers are now getting ready to link their videogames to the new device, which planned to land in the end 2010 or in early 2011 for an unmentioned price. And it is likely that Nintendo is have thought on focusing to 3D when creating the replacement to its Nintendo Wii home console.

Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, said :

“If you display a 3D image, the image quality becomes extremely bad, so we’d probably do it with the next system. We’re thinking that the timing should be once the 3D television adoption rate crosses the 30% mark. We’re looking at the adoption trends.”

It’s still unclear whether the no-glasses system used in 3DS device could also be used in a home console. Satoru Iwata had earlier talked about how glasses will not be trend with people looking to play games at house so the company have to be interested in developing a system more appealing to gamers than the 3D glasses concept now supported by its competitor Sony, whose PlayStation 3 is going 3D ASAP.

After all, Nintendo succeed create motion tracking simple and accessible with its Wii and both Microsoft as well as Sony are just now catching up with the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect. If the upcoming Nintendo home console achieved in making 3D gaming as simple, then it will dominate the market and again downgrade the competitors like Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to 2nd and 3rd place in the console ranking. An announcement on the new home gaming console will likely only land after the 3DS device is out.
