Currently most of the laptop weighs about 1.5 pounds. However, the presence of a super-tiny chip —- even more petite than human fingernails — will make the laptop weighs only 0.5 pounds.
Super tiny chip was developed by scientists at the National Nano Device Laboratories, Taiwan. The scientists claim that they have successfully cram more transistors into a chip than any other chip developers.
“Various electronic gadgets such as mobile phones and laptops can be smaller, lighter and cheaper thanks to this technology,” claims Yang Fu-liang, head of the lab.
“This is really advanced chip technologies,” said Nobunaga Chai, an analyst at Digitimes, as quoted from the AFP.
