Hard disk or commonly known as the hard drive is a storage medium that has a very important role. Imagine if your data is stored in the hard drive suddenly lost due to damage from the hard disk when you use your hard drive recently. Moreover, these data are important data. Actually it can be avoided by the way you treat your hard drive correctly so that extend the life of your hard drive.
However, if your hard drive suddenly cannot be read, it’s time to do Hard Drive Data Recovery so your critical data can be saved. Things you need to do are:
1. Avoid excessive heat on the hard disk.
This is usually not much attention, because the producers of the hard disk itself is usually not included as a means of cooling fans for hard disk drive. Though the heat produced due to the hard disk of the working components in the disk itself. Thing to do is set the direction of air flow in the computer case. Keep the air flow smoothly and provide an additional fan on the hard disk that leads to cooling it. If you use more than one hard drive, do not put too close in a single structure so that air flows smoothly and is also less heat generated one hard drive will radiate to others. Take advantage of hibernation or sleep facilities. Both these modes will slow the hard drive spin discs, reducing the head and reduce labor power supply to the computer hard drive when you do not use it. On windows operating system, click control panel> display> power> and set the hibernation and sleep configuration.
2. Keep your electric voltage is always constant.
Use a voltage regulator and UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so that available reserves sufficient for shutting down power purposes if at any time electricity was cut off.
3. Check the physical condition of the hard disk with ScanDisk facilities.
Right-click on the visible disk partition on windows explorer and select properties> tools> check now and then.
4. Leave a blank space on your hard drive about 10 – 15% of total capacity.
This is to provide breathing space on the hard disk. Clean the hard disk from junk files click Start> Run> typing cleanmgr and select the partition to be cleaned.
5. Create multiple partitions to separate data and operating systems. So if at any time you need to reinstall the operating system, you do not have to worry about the safety of your important data.
6. If you hard disk supports SMART (self monitoring technology analysis & reporting), activate through the BIOS. This facility will detect the condition of your hard drive periodically and give a warning a few days before the damaged hard drive. Immediately save your data if it comes SMART warning.
7. Get used to defragment the hard drive. This allows the disks to sort the data stored in it. So it will be faster to read data stored. Click start> all programs> accessories> system tools> Disk Defragmenter.
8. User Professional Services. If something you not desired with your hard drive happens, use the Hard Drive Recovery Services to help you to save the data on your hard drive. Usually they use Data Recovery Method according to their standards so as to save your important data more efficiently and accurately.
