No pleasant news circulating around the software driver for Nvidia graphics cards. A case has been reported that show the damage due to the error of graphics card driver 196.75 version.
Engadget reported some StarCraft II Beta players face frame rate reduction when using the latest drivers. The problem lies in the automatic settings of the graphics card fan is not functioning properly.
Not only decrease the frame rate, the more severe cases also have been reported. It is said that the impact from the hot chips, decreased performance and even damage the graphics card totally.
Nvidia also said to swiftly address this problem and remove the update from its site. Users who already use the 196.75 version is recommended for roll-back to the previous version (196.21).
Reportedly, ‘the green’ is currently investigating this case further. No confirmation yet whether there is a problem on the Nividia driver or not.
